Course Content NVQ  level 3 Childcare Learning and Development


NVQ Level 3 students must complete 5 mandatory units and 4 optional units. Only the recommended optional units have been listed here, but speak to your tutor if there is a specific module you would like to take.

  • CCLD 301 (Mandatory) - Develop and promote positive relationships
  • CCLD 302 (Mandatory) - Develop and maintain a healthy, safe and secure environment for children
  • CCLD 303 (Mandatory) - Promote children’s development
  • CCLD 304 (Mandatory) - Reflect on and develop practice
  • CCLD 305 (Mandatory) - Protect and promote children’s rights
  • CCLD 307 (Optional) Recommended - Promote the health and physical development of children
  • CCLD 309 (Optional) Recommended - Plan and implement curriculum frameworks for early education
  • CCLD 310 (Optional) Recommended - Assess children’s progress according to curriculum frameworks for early education
  • CCLD 314 (Optional) Recommended - Provide physical care that promotes the health and development of babies and children under 3 years
