Intermediate Apprenticeship in Childcare

The apprenticeship programmes are funded by the Skills Funding Agency for 16—18 year olds. Each part of the framework must be successfully covered to achieve the full Apprenticeship certificate. The average length of time taken to achieve the framework is 14 months, but timescales are discussed and agreed during the drawing up of an Individual Learning Plan.

The Apprenticeship framework

This qualification consists of
Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People's Workforce
which comprises of approximately 35 credits; most of which will have to be assessed in the workplace

 

As well as
Key skills Level 1 (Application of Number and Communication)
Paediatric First Aid

 

This course is mainly aimed at young people aged 16 – 24 who are employed within a childcare setting and earn a minimum of £2.50 per hour. To read the overview and some further information about this qualification, click here.
